I’m a native Yuma, graduated from Kofa Highschool in 1984 then attended AWC. I started working as a part time teller in 1995 for Southern Arizona Bank founded by local businessmen and Mr. John Byrd was our CEO/President. In January of 1996, they opened their 5th branch in San Luis AZ making me the lead teller. In 1997 we were acquired by National Bank of Arizona, and I became the Operations Supervisor ( teller supervisor). I stayed in that position until 2002 when I was promoted to branch manager. In 2012, National Bank of Arizona sold various rural branches, and San Luis was part of that sale.
1st Bank Yuma purchased our San Luis office in which I served as branch manager until Dec. 17, 2024. On March 3, 2025 I started working for Avenir Financial Credit Union as their new Business Development Officer.
I serve in various boards for the City of San Luis; these are the following:
-Building Board of Appels for the City of San Luis as a member since 2010.
-City of San Luis Employee Benefit Trust as a member since 2012.
-Industrial Development Authority of the City of San Luis (Director, appointed Aug. 2016).
-San Luis Facilities Development Corporation as Secretary appointed May 2016.
